An annual grass about
3 ft. high with culms from a decumbent or creeping base ; nodes
glabrous or slightly hairy. Leaves
flat, glabrous, soft with rough margin 8 in. long. Sheath up to
6 in in. long. smooth, glabrous. Inflorescence of number of spikes,
directed upward or slightly spreading, arranged alternately on
a mid axis. Lower spikes about half the length of the spike apart,
but the upper gradually becoming closer. Spikelets
globose, dull green, hairy, arranged in two rows on the same side
of the rhachis.

Found in many parts of Telangana
forests, near forest paths and in hedges of forest villages. A
favourite fodder grass but nowhere in large quantity.
