----- A perennial grass often found growing in compact tufts, culms about 3 ft. Leaves linear, 8-16 in. long ending in a fine point. Inflorescence a solitary raceme, the rachis is jointed and at each articulation are to be found a sessile and a pedicelled spikelet. From both the spikelets a slender awn, twisted at the base issues.
----- Found in the Telangana areas, mostly in Warangal District. Important as fodder when young and green. It can be made into hay and silage.
