----- An annual grass with erect stem from a short decumbent base and glabrous nodes. Leaves narrow, linear, acuminate glabrous (3-5) in. long; margins slightly scraberulous; panicles of few or many spikes seated distantly on the axis; rhachis flattened, glabrous. Spikelets almost sessile, in two rows, globose in shape, pale green or white in colour, pale yellow when mature.
----- Common all over the State, near and around tanks and ponds and forest edges and near wet cultivation. A good fodder grass Gonds and birds eat teh grain.
