Botanical Name - Mimosa hamata

----- A straggling prickly shrub, with a reddish-brown fibrous thin bark. Pinnae 3-4 pairs. Leaflets 6-10 pairs, mid-rib near the middle of leaflets. Sutures armed with numerous hooked prickles.

----- Very common in the forests, on field-boundries and often on black cotton soil in abandoned cultivation. It makes a good hedging material.
