Stamens 10 or numerous; filaments free or variously combined; anthers 2-celled. Ovary free, of a single carpel; style simple; stigma capitate; ovules 1 or more on the ventrla suture. Fruit a pod, dehiscent or indehiscent, at times separating into 1-seeded joints.
