Leaf blades soft, flat linear or almost lanceolate, narrow and rounded at the base. Margins very rough, nerves slender; sheath lax; auricles at the throat passing into a ligule, compressed, keeled at the top, very glabrous, and smooth or scaberulous; margins ciliolate.
