Annual grass, Culms
about 1 1/2 ft. high. tufted, often decumbent at the base for
a short distance. Leaves linear, very narrow, tapering
to an acuminate tip, smooth or, minutely scaberulous. Sheath smooth,
glabrous, stiff hairs at the collar, Inflorescence an oblong or
pyramidal panicle, rather weak, branches slender, spreading, hairy
at the axils. Spikelets numerous, narrow, 7-12-flowered, shorter
than the pedicels. Lemmas slightly shaded sith purple colour at
the tip.

Common in Telangana forests specially
in sandstone area. It is considered to be an average fodder grass.
