Annual grass appearing
at the end of rains. Culms about 8 ft. erect, occasionally prostrate,
smooth, glabrous, left-blade flat about 1 ft. long. narrow, taperingto
an acute tip. Glabrous ; sheath flattened, keeled, white and succulent
below. Inflorescence of 3-7 digitate spikes, radiating from the
top of the flowering culms. Spikelets
arranged on the under surface of the rhachis of the spikes and
all point forward, overlapping one another, towards the tip. Spikelets
many flowered, greyish green.

A scattered grass seen in the State
in forest blanks, at the edges of carts tracts, foothpaths, and
edges of forest and cultivation.
