Perennial grass. Culms
prostrate, creeping and rooting at the nodes. forming wide mats
on the surface of the soil. Leaves short, glaucous or deep green
in colour, linear to lanceolate, tapering to a fine point. Inflorescence
a whorl of 2-6 spikes radiating from the top of a slender peduncle.
Spikes 1-2 in. long, covered with unilateral rows of very small
spikelets.

or water collecting places. Best fodder grass specially for horses.
