showy, yellow, in copious axillary racemes. Calyx
of 5 more or less connate sepals, often lined in their lower portion
by a disk which bears petals and stamens. Petals
5 or less, imbricate in bud, usually orbicular with a distinct
claw, the uppermost smaller than the others. Stamens
ten or fewer, free or more or less connate ; anthers versatile.
Ovary sessile or sub-sessile,
few-ovuled ; style filiform sometimes clubbed at the top. Pod
oblong or ligulate, armed or smooth.
