Botanical Name - Andropogon pumilus

----- Andropogon pumilus, Roxb., F.B.I. V. 7. P. 170. Vern. Gondal or Gundial ( Mar).

----- Gregarious annual grass reaching a height of about 2 ft.; culms erect or geniculate, glabrous, smooth. Leaf blade narrow about 5 ft. long. Inflorescence a collection of pairs of racemes, each pair seated on top of a naked peduncle. Racemes 1 in. long, jointed, equal in length, divergent, seated on characteristic cone-shaped pedicles, each 4-angled, hollowed out at the top. At each articulation of racemes, are one sessile awned spikelet and also one pedicelled unawned spiklet. This grass turns red at maturitly.

----- This is found in the State in B.C. soil specially in Maratwada. A good fodder and is eaten by cattle, when green or as hay.
