Ans. The first level forest officer is Assistant Beat Officer/ Forest Watcher, who is assigned to a forest beat. Each Forest Beat is guarded by a Forest Beat Officer / Forest Guard, who is generally assisted by a Asst. Beat Officer. Few Forest Beats are organized in to 'Sections' and each 'Section ' will have a 'Forest Section Officer' who can be a forester or Dy. Range Officer. Few 'Sections' constitute a 'Forest Range', and Range is headed by a 'Forest Range Officer'. Few Rangers are formed into Forest Division, headed by Divisional Forest Officer of the rank of Assistant Conservator of Forests or Dy. Conservator of Forests (IFS or SFS). Few Divisions are formed into 'Circles', and each 'Circle' is headed by a Conservator of Forests (IFS).
Q. What is the administrative set up in Forest Department.
Ans. The basic territorial unit is 'Forest Beat'. Few 'Forest Beats' are made intoa 'Forest Section'. Few 'Forest Sections' are made into a 'Forest Range'. Few 'Forest Ranges' are formed into a 'Forest Division' and few 'Forest Divisions' are formed into 'Circle'. There are 13 Territorial circles, and 14 funcntional circles in the State.

The post of Dy. Range Officer is filled up by promotion from the category of 'Forester', the selection is done by the territorial circle head, namely Conservator of Forests.
The post of Forest Range Officers (Zonal posts), Asst. Conservator of Forests (State level posts) are done by AP Public Service Commision .
The Selection of IFS officers is done by Union Public Service commission.

Q.There is a monkey menace.What to do?
Ans.Permission for catching problematic monkeys is given by Chief Wildlife Warden (A.P.) under the LawAvailable list of monkey catchers in the State is available with the Wild life Officers
Normally the Municipalities and Municipal Corporations will be permitted to capture these monkeys.
After catching the monkeys, the males will have to be sterilized and a report is made to Chief Wildlife Warden (A.P.). Then permission to release them into forest areas will be given by the Chief Wildlife Warden (A.P.).

Ans.Wild animals especially, the endangered species cannot be permitted to be kept as pets.Peafowl is a scheduled and endangered animal.Permission may be given to large establishments having sufficient space to keep the un-scheduled animals only through a license granted by the Central Zoo Authority,New Delhi
